Frequently Asked Questions
+ How long will an appointment take?
The initial appointment usually takes about one hour. This includes the initial evaluation, treatment and instruction on home exercises. Please come 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to fill out initial paper work.
+ How many visits will I need?
There is not a set number of visits. Each individual is unique and different. Some clients may need a couple of weeks of treatment and others may need a couple of months of treatment. It depends on the severity of your injury and how you respond to treatment.
+ Will I get treated at the initial visit?
Yes. You will get treated at the initial visit. It is important that we get started right away and that you get instructions on what you can do at home to help yourself.
+ What are your payment options?
We accept cash, checks, credit and debit cards, flex cards, VISA and American Express for payment. Our billing staff will gladly file your treatment claims and answer your questions that you may have about payment for services.
+ What do I need to wear?
I need to have free and clear access to your injury. If you have neck, shoulder, back, pelvic or hip pain, you will need to change into loose fitting clothing. We offer shorts and medical gowns for your privacy. Feel free to bring you own change of clothing.
+ Do I need a referral?
Patients who would like for us to bill Medicare need a referral from a medical doctor. The referral needs to be from your medical doctor with your diagnosis and requesting that you receive occupational therapy. Worker’s Compensation patients need a referral from their doctor and authorization from there insurance provider. Because I am an occupational therapist in private practice in the state of North Carolina, clients have free access to my services and do not need to get a referral from a doctor unless your insurance requires it for billing.
