Individualized care.

I began treating patients back when occupational therapists treated one patient at a time. To this day, our patients get individualized care during every visit.

Challenging cases.

I love a challenge. I love working with patients with challenging injuries such as chronic pain, TMJ, myofascial pain, hand and upper extremity pain. I love figuring out what the problem is and where it is coming from.

I provide individualized, hands-on treatment that truly helps patients get better.

Added Expertise.

In 1994, I began my study and training with the founder of Myofascial Release, John F Barnes PT.  In 2001 I was selected to become a Myofascial Release instructor and continue to train therapists as my time allows.

My passion is figuring out what is going on with the patient that is causing their pain/symptoms.

Over years of practice I’ve developed the Dixon Method, an approach that understands and treats patients as a whole person rather than their presenting diagnosis.

Custom Methodology.

When managed care came along, their priority was making money rather than getting the patients better.  I knew then that I’d open my own private practice and provide my own method of therapy that put the patient and their care first.

I noticed that doctors were referring patients who did not respond to medication and traditional therapy. I started working with a colleague who was trained in Myofascial Release (MFR), and her results with her patients were amazing.

By integrating MFR into my work, I knew I’d find success with these patients.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Lori Dixon, OT/L for 25 years.

She is an a talented therapist who fully understands the principals of Myofascial Release and has the sensitive touch of a therapeutic artist who helps her clients in a significant way.

Lori also is an instructor at my Myofascial Release seminars throughout the country. I highly recommend Lori. You can trust her to provide you with hope, and help you resolve your problems.

Lori Dixon OT/L has been practicing as an occupational therapist for over 32 years. For the past 27 years, her private outpatient therapy clinic has been based in High Point NC. She has trained under internationally know John F Barnes PT for Myofascial Release and Craniosacral Therapy since 1992. She has been an instructor working with John F Barnes PT with his beginner/intermediate classes, Myofascial l, Myofascial Unwinding, Myofascial Release ll, Fascial Pelvis, Myofascial Mobilization, and Myofascial Peds. She has assisted in teaching these courses throughout the Southeast.

Lori’s area of expertise is Myofascial Release, a safe and effective way to evaluate and treat patients for chronic pain and dysfunction. Myofascial release is a hands-on treatment technique that releases scar tissue, soft tissue restrictions, adhesions, and tight and restricted muscles. Myofascial release is successful when traditional therapy, medication, and surgery have failed to produce the desired results.

Lori looks at each patient as a unique individual, not a diagnosis. She has tremendous success with chronic pain, TMJ dysfunction, gynecological problems, orthopedic injuries, sports-related injuries, and hand injuries.
